The Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence – Third Edition (WPPSI-III) is an individually administered clinical instrument for assessing the intelligence of children aged 2 years 6 months through 7 years 3 months (2:6–7:3).
Its age range is divided into two age bands (2:6–3:11 and 4:0–7:3) each with its own battery of subtests. The WPPSI-III provides composite scores that represent intellectual functioning in specified cognitive domains such as Verbal IQ and Performance IQ.
