Individual Support & Guidance
Child Psychology focuses on supporting children in understanding their world and what is happening around them. It helps families better understand how a child’s mind ticks and how they can be supported at the highest level throughout childhood and into the future. Through child psychology we address language learning, imaginary play, core memory functioning, decision-making and problem-solving (all of which are vital to a child’s mental health).
Unlike counselling, child psychology helps with the extra needs of each individual, from grief and trauma to relationship issues (with parents, siblings and peers) and education (school). It also addresses developmental delays and provides support for children with learning difficulties and disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Attention-Deficit Disorder, Oppositional Behaviour Disorder, Pathological Demand Avoidance and more.

Dealing With Mental Health Problems
Psychology can help to deal with mental health problems such as childhood and teenage depression and anxiety; and generalised stresses of early development. Often behaviour and social skills are adversely impacted by mental health problems, which is something we also seek to address through psychological therapy and developmental support.
At Kids Therapy Club, our child psychologists work with the entire family unit in creating an individual care plan that aligns with the child’s therapeutic goals.
Our psychologists take into consideration the child’s personal needs and therapy goals when creating this plan as it assists in shaping the child’s mind and environment. Family members are also welcome to attend their child’s psychology session.
